Art competition

Have your work shown in an exhibition running at the Riverside Museum at Blake's Lock, 28th-30th April! We are running a competition to gather eleven great pieces of work that interpret the local area and local art. You can browse the entries or follow the guidelines below to enter your own work.

Closing date: Thursday 6th April.

Prizes

The eleven best pieces will be shown at our exhibition, which will be well publicised throughout Berkshire and amongst free culture / Creative Commons communities on the internet with a reach of hundreds of thousands.

Visitors will be able to vote on their favourite works, and the top artists will receive something along the lines of (to be confirmed):

  • An MP3 player
  • A Creative Commons / Remix Reading t-shirt
  • A selection of free culture CDs, DVDs and magazines

Entry guidelines

  • You must submit your work to Remix Commons, the web site of our parent national organisation. If you submit a remix, make sure you respect any share-alike clauses in their licenses! Also make sure you add the 'Competition' tag, otherwise it won't be considered an entry!
  • The work should if possible be on a canvas, board or some other quality material. If you submit a photograph or other digital work please ensure that it is a high resolution image suitable for a large print.
  • Your work cannot be any larger than the panels, which are 1.5m x 1m.
  • You should visibly remix the local area in your work, or remix one of the following works already on Remix Commons:
